101 Ways to Extract Modal Parameters - Which is the One for Me? - IMAC 23

O

Modal parameter estimation has always been a source of difficulty in the development of an experimental modal model. Much time can be wasted in this process of extraction of parameters especially when the data collected is not optimal. A brief review of the history of modal parameter estimation usage from a user perspective is presented related to the frequency response testing approach. More importantly, the lessons learned over the years on how to best extract parameters and guidelines for reduction of data are presented. Several case examples are presented to illustrate some of the common pitfalls that have been observed over the years. Also several cases that illustrate interpretation of data are presented.
