Dynamic Expansion of FRFs for the Full FRF Matrix - IMAC 19

Often inclusion of rotational effects for impedance modeling is critical to the accuracy of the predicted system characteristics. However, from a test standpoint, these rotational measurements are often not available. Expansion of measured translational FRFs can be performed using the measured modes of the system along with the residual modes from the modal parameter estimation process. Using multiple referenced data allows for the expansion of potentially all of the terms of the FRF matrix. The expansion techniques are identified in this paper along with examples of the expansion for all of the terms of the FRF matrix.
